L-cysteine is a non-essential sulfur-containing amino acid. It can be produced from methionine. As sulfur-containing amino acids, L-cysteine and L-methionine are the starting materials for all sulfur-containing compounds in the body. Sulfur-containing amino acids are used in the production of tissues.
N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) is the acetylated form (composed of acetic acid) of L-cysteine. Compared to L-cysteine, NAC 600 is generally better tolerated and less susceptible to oxidation.
The NAC compound is also present in nature and is found, for example, in chicken and turkey meat, garlic, eggs, as well as various fruits and vegetables.
NAC600 is obtained synthetically and is 100% vegan.
